Google Glass may assist first responders in disaster areas
Date: 8. February 2017
The augmented-reality headset Google Glass could be used to help paramedics and emergency medical technicians in disaster areas.
When first responders enter the scene of an active shooting or chemical spill, they must rapidly decide how to prioritise patient care. However, they do not always have the medical expertise to actually identify who needs the most pressing attention. Wearing Google Glass while assessing patients would allow first responders to consult with surgeons and other doctors back at the hospital in real time, and identify patients who urgently need care.
